Sweet Smelling Sweat!

I am by no means a “spin-aholic.” Ya know, those people who schedule everything around their spin class? I’m much more into interval training, weights, and pilates. My friend talked me into taking a SoulCycle class with her. The popular spin class adored by celebs like Kelly Ripa plays great music that really gets you going and the upper body workout part of the class makes you feel like an athlete. I’ll admit, I left feeling great. Now I can have that same feeling when I’m not in class. SoulCycle by Jonathon Adler $42 at soul-cycle.com, a new candle that has the same invigorating feeling from class recently crossed my desk. The candle is citrusy and fresh and will get you in the mood to move.

Mackage Me!

I believe every woman should have a wardrobe of coats. After all, when the weather gets cooler, your coat makes a big statement. Well this year, I fell in love with Mackage. So why is this line so special? Well, for one their coats are extremely warm, chic, and stylish. But, as a petite girl, I love how they are fitted and show off your waistline. So rather than looking like I’m wearing a down sleeping bag, their down puffers still show off your curves. Plus, they are ultra-feminine with soft, sophisticated lines and fabrics. Check out www.mackage.com for more information.

Style Resolutions

Follow my 7 style tips to make the “new year, new you” mantra a reality.

Learn your correct bra size. Between 75 and 80 percent of women wear the wrong bra size. Make it a point this year to get the right fit. Your bra is critical to how your clothes look, helping give shape and support and allowing your clothes to fall correctly. Most retailers have someone on hand to help size you for free.

Clean out your closet. Why? This will help you stay organized and be able to find your clothes and put together different looks more easily. If you haven’t worn something in the past few years, donate it to charity. If it’s a very memorable item, store it in a bin in your attic. Make your day-to-day closet just that—clothes you wear regularly.

Invest in a classic piece. Classic items like the LBD (little black dress) or the LBH (little black handbag) will last you forever. You’ll also be able to wear them over and over again, so you will get your money out of the investment. Also, when you have one investment item, you can get away with mixing it with lower-priced items.

Visit the tailor. Fit is key to an item looking right. When your clothes fit you to a tee you also look longer and leaner. Take a risk with fashion this year and try something new. For instance, if you’ve been hesitant to try a skinny jean or jegging, go for it this year. Everyone can get away with wearing trends. The key is tweaking it so it’s right for you and your body type.

Be casually chic. Don’t leave the house looking frumpy. You can look stylish in casual clothes. Put together a few looks for when you’re running out the door. Toss those stained sweatpants and try a pair of leggings with a ballet flat or an over-the-knee boot and boyfriend sweater.

Add some color. It’s so easy to stick with just black or brown, but color is a great way to add a glow to your skin tone and brighten your mood. Give your look a pop of color—wear a brighter, jewel-toned sweater or shirt with your basic black pants.

Be a Ballerina Beauty

Not only did I love the film Black Swan because of the amazing script and acting, but also because there is nothing more feminine than ballerinas and ballet clothes. The good news is the spring runways were filled with touches of ballet chic looks like a soft, pink wrap sweater, ruffled skirts, ballet flats, and of course delicate pink polishes. Now I just have to practice some plies to get those ballerina legs.

What TO Wear With Stacy London

I had the pleasure of co-hosting NACDS last weekend with TLC’s What Not to Wear star Stacy London in Palm Beach, Florida. Being that I love to appear in front of an audience (whether it’s live or on TV), I wasn’t nervous at all about coming up with witty conversation on stage with Stacy. BUT, I was a little worried about what to wear. So, drumroll please, I went for a steel colored Herve Lerger bandage dress and a pair of snakeskin slate blue Jimmy Choos. And…I got Stacy’s seal of approval. Phew…
